About Ruri Community Alliance

Ruri Community Alliance is a youth-driven social enterprise in Lambwe Ward, Homabay County, working to reduce teenage pregnancies and risky sexual behavior while empowering young people to become agents of change. We create safe, engaging spaces where youth access opportunities for volunteering, sports, skills development, and economic empowerment, building responsibility, leadership, and community pride. Through interactive workshops, peer education, and targeted mentorship, we equip young people with tools to overcome barriers to education, make informed life choices, and share accurate information within their networks. Our approach blends health, livelihood, and environmental sustainability, integrating indigenous skills like pottery, weaving, and basketry with environmental conservation projects that generate income and improve community well-being. By harnessing youth creativity and community action, RuCA turns potential into purpose, ensuring healthier, more resilient futures for Homabay’s next generation.
